How to set a pool
For the expert. One page. Your visit becomes the standard every technician is measured against at this pool: how long it takes, where to walk, and what each photo should look like.
Do this at the pool
- Open the link on your phone (the QC icon on your Home Screen, or the address the office gave you).
- Log in with your name and PIN.
- Under Visit type, choose "Set the baseline". Pick today's conditions: normal, after a storm, or after a holiday.
- Stand at the pool, not in the truck or the parking lot. The phone has to see you there.
- Tap Start next to the pool and look at the phone for Face ID. A green bar says tracking is on.
- Walk the areas you normally work: the whole deck, the equipment room, the spa. Work at your normal pace with the app open on the screen. If the screen locks, that time is a gap.
- Take each photo from the spot you want every tech to copy. Same place, same angle, same distance. Technicians will see your photo next to theirs and match it. Use the app's own camera button.
- Enter the readings: free chlorine, pH, alkalinity, CYA and temperature.
- Tap Finish visit while you are still at the pool, then the red Yes — finish now, and look at the phone for Face ID again. A drive with the page open counts as working time.
Do it 2 or 3 times, on different days. One run is a start. Two or three runs on different days give a fair standard for time and route, because no two days are the same.
Good to know
A run must last at least 5 minutes from Start to Finish. A shorter run does not count at all, not even its photos.
Something special at this pool (spa cover straps, a lagoon beach)? Tap Add item during your baseline run. That is the only time an expert can add one, and every technician must then photograph it. Adding it on a short extra run? Keep that run going at least 5 minutes.
Keep people out of your photos.
Made a mistake? Tell the office. They can leave a bad run out of the standard.
